Miscellaneous Notes
Airline Itineraries/Tickets: Please be advised that everyone must make plans for their departing planes as follows (after the trip is complete):
1) You will be transferred back to the Lima Airport for final departures.
2) All flights must be made to depart after 6 PM on the final day. Any earlier will cause a problem because we have to travel back to Lima that morning. This means that flights must be after 6:30 PM on Aug. 14th or early morning on Aug. 15th. Most flights are after 10PM and around 1AM. If you choose to leave during the day on August 15th, please plan to pay extra for an additional night hotel stay.
Altitude Sickness: For most people the altitude causes headaches and nausea. Some more then others. We have the trip planned to try and help minimize this. Time is the best healer. Also Coca Tea is a big help. All the hotels in Cusco and the Andes will have this. It is a pleasant tea and sipping this along with easing into the activities usually does the trick. Most people do not have serious problems until over 15,000 feet which we will not be near. Machu Picchu is around 11,900 and some points that we will be visiting will be around 12,400. For some people a couple of aspirins is all they need. There are prescriptions for this as well if you would like to contact your doctor in advance for recommendations. Let's put our minds to feeling perfect no matter what the altitude is... and of course, meditation always helps!
Mandatory Waiver: Upon registering for this trip you will be sent a mandatory waiver for you to sign and return.
Please note: We will do our best to stick to the itinerary as planned. Please be advised that sometimes during travel in Peru things can change that are beyond our control and that we may need to adjust and change as necessary.
